CAGE R4 TRAP 5 SEAL L4 Description: This is a two man wedge designed to attack a coverage team with a dominant 4. This can also neutralize a fast 5 by trapping him outside in. LT: Ball-Flight-Returner-Man. Sift technique. Open hips and run full speed to the 30 YL. Flip hips and buzz your feet at an intersection point on 2. Engage L2 and disrupt his path to the outside & then work up field to intersect the 1 as he folds. If the 2 persists inside then stay on him. LG: Ball-Flight-Returner-Man. Open hips and run full speed to the 30 YL. Flip hips and buzz your feet at an intersection point on 3. Engage 3 with active feet on contact. Finish up field and inside. LC: Ball-Flight-Returner-Man. Open hips and run full speed to the 30 YL. Flip hips and buzz your feet at an intersection point on L5. Engage L5 with active feet on contact. Finish up field and inside. RC: Post Technique. Open hips and sprint to the 30 YL. Square up on the R4 and engage him right down the middle at the 30 YL. Stop his charge. Expect help on your outside by the RG almost immediately after contact. If the R4 escapes it should be to your inside. RG: Pin Technique: See the ball kicked. Find the RC and set up just outside of him. Your eyes stay on him. When the RC makes contact with the R4 pin him from the outside. Win with outside leverage that doesn’t allow the R4 to split the double. If the R4 escapes it should be inside of the RC. RT: Trap Technique. Open hips and run to a point behind the double team. Track the path of the 5 as you travel. You must adjust to his speed. If he is fast you must go. If he is slow you should hide behind the double team until he gets to you. Trap him from the outside in. LE: Seal Tech. See the ball kicked then slightly lose ground as you sprint inside to get inside out on 4. Flip your hips and buzz feet as you enter contact with the 4. Your aiming point is his inside #. Force him to go outside or finish him with your feet if he reacts inside. CE: 2 Man Wedge Tech. See the ball kicked then find the Returner. Set the 2 man wedge 12 Yds in front of the Returner. Offset the wedge 2 Yds to the return side. Get your eyes back on your blocking assignment. When you hear a “Go” call from the FB sprint full speed to the R3. Your target should be the inside number of the R3. RE: 2 Man Wedge Tech. See the ball kicked then find the CE. Set up hip to hip next to him. When you hear a “Go” call sprint full speed with CE to the R3. Block the outside man either the R2 or the R3 inside out. FB: See the flight of the ball off of the tee. Find the Returner and set up half way between the Returner and the 2 man wedge. Keep your eyes on the Returner. When the Returner catches the ball make a loud “Go” call. Lead the way to the return. Block any different colored jersey along the way. Look for the R1 for the Touchdown block. R: Secure the catch first. Start the return to the middle of the field first to set up the blocks. Get vertical and press the double team before cutting outside of the trap block. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CAGE L4 TRAP 5 SEAL R4 Description: This is a two man wedge designed to attack a coverage team with a dominant 4.
